A new clockwork arthropod made from watch parts and soldered together with lead free silver bearing solder. Of the Creature family: [link]

Like Creature, he has fiddler crab style claws. The most intricate body-chassis I've done to date. Started out as a bit of an "engine" assembly built around a heart of a brass winding stem knob. Balance wheels, bridges, stems, brass train gears, spring bars and other parts make up the core. An automotive lightbulb makes up the abdomen. The rear is inspired a bit by the war machine version of The Iron Giant. A balance wheel with spokes cut out forms a ring of support for the abdomen. Watch stems hold the balance wheel to the body, allowing greater support for the abdomen. Each side is different, yet organically balanced, much like real life. Watch bands act as neck support/spines. For more picture of this guy: [link]

The shallow depth of field and the texture of the surface make this look so tiny one wonders just how this was made. It shows a skill that must have been honed over many years :worship:
