Spider and Mantis, scaleby *AMechanicalMind

Artisan Crafts / Metal Work

Arachnid sculpture. (sold! [link] ) Watch stems, bearing assembly, lightbulb. Eight legs, four stems each leg, thirty two soldered leg joints. Abdomen is a tiny automotive lightbulb. Cephalothorax consists of four watch stems, a brass and steel bearing assembly, and some sort of nickle and brass cylinder.

Measures 38mm wide by 37mm front to back, 21mm tall

A Mantis (buy here: [link] ) made completely of watch parts. The body is made with stems, spring bars, and a balance stem. Legs are made with watch stems. Front legs contain cut brass gears as grippers. Head is an escapement holder that has been bent to accept the eyes, which are winding stems ends that have been sanded down. The wings are made of watch faces that have been cut and bent into wing shapes.

THAT IS SOOO COOL!!!
I don't even like spiders but I wish I could have it... Though I do like the mantis just as much... it's just it's not so surprising for me.. Like I absolutely hate spiders and I STILL want it... ANYWAYS, amazzing work ^^
