Operator
Made from recycled watch parts and soldered together with lead free, silver bearing solder
Completed 11-21-14

Operator features a head made from a watch face that has been hand cut, sanded and shaped into a face and jaw. The eyes were created with variously sized and cut watch strap springs. The side of his head is embellished with a bearing assembly and spacer.

His torso was created by soldering a ladies watch band into a spine shape, then attaching four watch plates to act as shoulder and hip mounting points. He features a red Christmas tree light bulb "heart." behind a sternum made from a cut watch plate and ribs of straightened balance wheels, dials, and watch plates. His collars are made from watch strap springs, and he has other embellishments of watch plates, wheels, and spring straps.

His arms and legs are a combination of assorted watch plates, cut faces, strap springs, winding stems and other parts soldered to the body via brass watch spring barrels.

The hands and feet and made from individually broken and soldered winding stems attached to brass faces. He features one hand with four fingers, one pincer style hand, and a saw mechanism sand.

All creations made by A Mechanical Mind are one of a kind, never to be reproduced exactly. All parts are soldered, never glued. This sculpture comes with a 3” wide by 4” tall glass display dome with wooden base. Sculptures are not toys and should be handled sparingly, as their parts are tiny and delicate.
