This is a hand assembled and very realistic mechanical Spider made from the recycled parts of old watches.

His legs consist of some 48 different watch winding stems that have been broken into the various "leg" parts and then soldered at the joints (with lead free silver bearing solder) into a very lifelike position. The legs alone require 32 very tiny soldered points.

The legs were attached to a body made of soldered strap springs, watch stems, and a nickle and brass cylinder pulled from a watch.

The abdomen was created from a tiny dead automotive light bulb whose leads are attached to the body with solder.

There is no glue or resin to be found in the piece...everything is soldered into place with metal. This is a one of a kind work of art, never to be exactly reproduced.

Dimensions: 35mm wide by 38mm front to back by 28mm tall. He comes with a 3" by 4" glass dome with walnut base for display. He is extremely fragile and should be handled sparingly and very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.
