NOW FOR SALE HERE: [link]

A Mechanical Spider made from recycled watch parts including gears, watch plates, winding stems, and spring barrels.

Spider No 8 presents a new design for my spider creations. Rather than the body being just soldered together stems and spring barrels, it consists of a chassis-like assembly made with watch plates connected by stems. Onto this chassis are soldered the spring barrels and stems for eyes, the legs, the light bulb and a few gears for added mechanical effect.

Each leg consists of four different watch winding stems that have been cut down to size and soldered at the joint. Each leg has three soldered joints.

After the legs have been soldered individually, they are grouped into sides, and each side is soldered together. The sides are then soldered to the body chassis.

Therefore, the legs themselves take thirty four soldered joints.

The chassis on this particular spider has around sixteen solder points, for a total of fifty different areas that need to be joined together.
