Creeper
Finished August 7, 2013

Creeper was created with a variety of watch parts including watch strap springs, winding stems, watch plates, watch dials, balance wheels, spring barrels, gears, and a blue Christmas tree light bulb.

His abdomen is made of a round watch face that has been cut into six pieces and soldered onto a European balance wheel. Delicate pieces that hold in gears on watches were also soldered onto this balance wheel. A blue Christmas tree light bulb acts as the center of the abdomen.

To the abdomen was then soldered a watch face that was cut into three parts and shaped into a half circle. The three parts are held together by a watch stem. Affixed to the front of this assembly is another European balance wheel, as well as a smaller balance wheel with brass gears positioned on the inside. A couple of different watch plates attached to this assembly act as mechanical decoration.

Legs comprised of many different watch strap springs were then soldered to the body. Each leg features around seven solder joints each.

The head was made with watch dials the have been cut and shaped, to which is attached "eyes" made from spring barrels and watch winding knob "pupils" A gear shaft forms a sort of horn on the top of his head. The head assembly is soldered to the body by way of a neck made from winding stems and spring barrels.

His arms and hands were made from strap springs and winding stems, respectively.

Creeper is soldered together using silver bearing solder. No glue was used in the creation of this piece.

Dimensions: 49mm wide 73mm tip to tail 31mm tall He comes with a 3" by 4" glass dome with walnut base for display. He is extremely fragile and should be handled sparingly and very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.
