Demonfly was created from recycled watch parts and a blue Christmas tree light bulb.
His body is made from two watch plates soldered into a V shape, to which is attached a blue Christmas tree bulb.
His wings are made from cut and sanded watch dials that were soldered onto watch winding stems and then the body.
His arms and legs are made of a combination of many watch winding stems and strap springs. His arms swivel at the elbow joint to make him look like he is either attacking or ready for flight.
Over the thorax is soldered a cut and sanded watch face.
His head is a cut and shaped watch dial onto which eyes made from winding knobs are attached.
The base is a model railroad rail made of nickel-silver alloy that has been cut, shaped and soldered.
All parts are soldered with silver bearing solder, never glued.
Demonfly measures 56mm wide by 60mm front to back by 88mm tall with base.
All creations made by A Mechanical Mind are one of a kind, never to be reproduced exactly. All parts are soldered, never glued. Each sculpture comes with a 3” wide by 4” tall glass display dome with wooden base. Sculptures are not toys and should be handled sparingly, as their parts are tiny and delicate.
