Creature (hand for scale) by AMechanicalMind Creature (hand for scale) by AMechanicalMind
Creature is inspired by fiddler crabs, spiders, scorpions, grasshoppers, monkeys, bulldogs, and more.

I find it fun to do something straight from the mind rather than working from real images.

Made from many, many watch pieces, including gears, watch plates, spring barrels, watch winding stems, watch jewels, and clips. The lightbulb is a Christmas light. His spine is a watch band.

55mm front to back, 36mm wide, 25mm tall.

Really cool!!! :)
I like to start making little sculptures from pieces of anything, but I don't know how to put it together because I don't have experience in metal work.
Did you have some advice for me?
Thanks.

This is fantastic! I'm creating a piece of jewellery in a similar way. I'm using resin and hardener to bind it all together, do you mind telling me how you chose to stick all these tiny pieces together?

At first I thought 'hand for sale' hahahaaaa
What a cute critter you have there! Reminds me of the spider thing from Spy Kids. ^^

I get the "hand for sale" thing quite a bit! Thank you for the compliment, and I can definitely see the spider from spy kids in there. Also, there is this old 80's movie called runaway with Tom "The Moustache" Selleck in it that these creatures always make me think about: [link]
