Scorpion No. 6 was created from discarded watch parts by Chicago artist Justin Gershenson-Gates. Recycled 60's era watch dials have been meticulously cut, sanded, and shaped to form No. 6's body and tail. A skeleton crafted from watch spring bars is then attached, as well as legs, eyes, and mandibles, also made from spring bars. Front claws are made from watch faces and spring bar pinchers are attached. The tail features decorative gold watch spacers. Scorpion No. 6 is 1.5" wide by 3" long and 2.25" tall. This sculpture includes a 3" x 4" protective glass dome and a walnut display case. Soldered using lead free, silver bearing solder.
