"Cherry Blossom"

Mankind and "nature" can co-exist peacefully and in harmony, as long as there is moderation on account of humans. Endless plundering of natural resources only hastens our demise, yet
the world itself will continue long after we have done our damage. Her absolute beauty is in her ability to evolve. Our tragic flaw as humans is our inability to do the same with our habits.

Cherry Blossom is the melding of the mechanical hardness of industry, symbolized by the gear or cog, and the natural organic curves of a tree. Only by working together can industry and nature coexist. The Cherry Tree itself is a foreshadower of spring, of change itself, from the dark and cold of winter.

The piece was created from recycled watch parts to remind us both of the limited time we spend with the Earth as well as the need to reuse what we take from her.
